A little bit about me

I worked for 30 years as an enterprise information management consultant - employed by leading consultancies - providing strategic advice to organizations in the public and private sector internationally on how to achieve a sustainable and joined- up approach to data, information and knowledge. I worked across many sectors and cultures around the world and played a leading role in implementing recommendations.

I have now self-published a book Trusted Knowledge in a digital and fragmented world of work which is a synthesis of my experiences with organisations in many countries and sectors, and how to better curate and deploy knowledge, and not to squander institutional memory.

The aim is to make the insights and learnings from these experiences as accessible as possible.

Since my retirement in 2016 I have also devoted time to climate & net zero related education. As Fellows of The Schumacher Institute, Katie Dick and I co-authored a Community Climate Action Toolkit https:// schumacherinstitute.org.uk/community-climate-action-toolkit/.

I am a co-founder (in 2016) of Nailsworth Climate Action Network, and am now its Education Lead.

I write in a personal capacity on a variety of topics (science, energy, climate etc.) on my blog www.essaysconcerning.com. My most influential piece to date was Insulate Britain: Yes, but by how much?. I also have produced a talk that explains how the UK can transform its energy production and use: Greening Our Energy: How Soon? Looking back and looking forward, to 2030 and beyond – A layperson’s guide
